Shopify website design Ireland

A new online store needs to make buying straightforward and running the business manageable. I design Shopify websites for Irish businesses, with the product structure, mobile experience and launch plan agreed before the build begins. You work directly with me from the first brief to handover.

What is included

Build the store around your customers.

A useful store brief

We start with what you sell, who buys it and how orders are fulfilled. A small catalogue, a retail shop moving online and a business replacing an existing store have different requirements. I turn those requirements into a written scope, including what your team needs to supply.

Theme and page design

I select and customise an appropriate Shopify theme around your brand and shopping journey. The scope sets out homepage, collection and product layouts, plus supporting pages. A theme licence and any work beyond its supported features are identified before you commit.

Products and collections

Good design depends on usable product information. We agree product types, collection navigation, variants and the number of products to upload. Descriptions, photographs, stock information and delivery details need named owners, so content does not become a last-minute obstacle.

Mobile shopping checks

I review navigation, product options, images and the route into checkout on a phone. The goal is to help people understand what they are buying and what happens next. Checkout customisation depends on Shopify’s plan and platform capabilities; the proposal makes the available scope clear.

Payments and delivery setup

We configure the agreed payment and shipping options, with business details and tax settings supplied or approved by you. Test orders check the journey through confirmation and fulfilment. Collection, delivery markets and any specialist integrations are discussed before the build is priced.

Launch and handover

Before launch, we check agreed pages, links, product information and essential store tasks. Handover covers the work you will do regularly, such as changing a product, reviewing an order and updating content. Further training or ongoing support can be scoped separately.

Process

From first brief to first order.

The design process should resolve business decisions as well as visual ones. We agree the main page types and a representative product before applying the approach across the store. That gives you a useful point to review the shopping experience while changes are still manageable.

  • 01

Define the build: agree catalogue size, brand assets, content responsibilities, integrations and the customer journey. Identify any migration work separately.

  • 02

Review the design: choose the theme and work through the key layouts using realistic product content, with a clear feedback and approval process.

  • 03

Configure and check: populate the agreed content, connect approved services and test products, delivery options, notifications and order handling.

  • 04

Launch and learn: complete the launch checklist, hand over access and routine tasks, and agree what any subsequent support covers.

A clear boundary between the build and running costs.

Your project quote covers the agreed design and setup work. Shopify subscriptions, paid themes, apps, payment fees and ongoing marketing are separate considerations. A lower build fee does not necessarily mean a lower first-year cost. The website design cost guide and budget calculator help you list the expenses without counting bundled items twice.

For Irish retailers, the brief should reflect the business’s actual delivery and collection arrangements. If you also sell outside Ireland, we establish which countries are in scope and what the business needs for shipping, currencies and approved tax configuration. I do not assume that enabling every market is the right launch decision.

Already trading on Shopify? The existing Shopify optimisation service covers improvements to established stores. This page focuses on commissioning a new design and build. If email is part of the launch, Klaviyo setup can be discussed as a defined addition rather than an unexplained extra.

Questions

Common questions.

How much does Shopify website design cost?+

I quote the project after reviewing the catalogue, design requirements, content and integrations. The quote distinguishes my work from platform and third-party charges. The build planner above helps you prepare that brief; it does not generate a binding price.

Can you move an existing store to Shopify?+

We can assess that as a migration project. The review should cover products, content, customer data where transferable, existing URLs and business integrations. What can transfer depends on the source platform and available tools. I confirm the scope before promising a complete move.

Will I be able to manage the store myself?+

The handover should cover the routine tasks you need to perform. If you want more time practising, see Shopify training in Ireland and the Shopify training checklist. We agree who handles less frequent technical changes.

Does the build include SEO?+

The agreed build can include page titles, descriptions, headings, product and collection structure and essential launch checks. Ongoing research, content production and SEO delivery are a separate scope. New-store foundations and a continuing search programme are different pieces of work.

Do I need a paid theme or lots of apps?+

Not automatically. We choose tools against actual requirements, then assess their cost, compatibility and maintenance. A free theme may suit the brief; a paid theme may provide useful features. Either choice should be explained before purchase.

Where can I check Shopify’s current charges?+

Use Shopify’s Ireland pricing page for current plans and billing terms. App and theme charges need separate checks. Promotional prices should not be used as the long-term budget.
